It’s my 25th year of existence. I survived the chaos. I can travel by myself on the overground, the underground and the bus. I know how to get myself to the ICA, I thirst for celluloid more than ever before, I have a lifetime membership at the Prince Charles Cinema and the BFI Southbank is screening animation all year round. Also, the cinema at my favourite shopping centre now has reclining seats. Right. Let’s do this.

NOTE: This was announced late in September when I had already booked the premiere of Wild Rose. After two and a half weeks of panic and failed attempts at getting the ticket sold (which hurt even worse when they delayed the film’s release from February to April), a kind delegate cancelled the ticket and added the ticket price onto my account despite of the BFI’s rather bogus refund policy.

NOTE: You either die a critic of the Wachowski fanbase, or you live long enough to see yourself become part of it. I used to nitpick this movie to death for its hyperactive visuals, its story and Spritle, but I went to this screening because I also felt that I have been misjudging it. I was left so excited that from a combination of the final race and possibly all the mucus I was trying to blow out my brain suffered from anxiety for over two weeks. This movie ruined my life but I've slandered it enough already.
